John Chadder, from his counselor at Saint Hill

John Chadder

Looking for words to describe and celebrate the life of John Chadder are so numerous due to his diverse interests in all aspects of life.

He was very determined, strong-willed, kind and above all generous and always willing to give all for the cause. Whether being for his close friends, colleagues or those who he confided in.

He was always involved in a project of sorts and would always ensure that he was hands on personally ensuring that it was being done. Personally I know of the flats that he renovated in East Grinstead and the building he renovated at G&G which he proudly told me about. As well as one of his proudest projects that I had the pleasure of visiting which was the all wooden Business Park in Forest Row. The project that eclipsed them all was his beautiful house on Lewes Road.

Of course the huge project he undertook of the Saint Hill Castle in the 70s and 80s and again the renovations in 2015 in which he took a consultant role. I still  have the pleasure of working there today, thanks to John’s work.

John was a visionary and never liked having things lagging behind or having incomplete projects and looked ahead at the next things that he could engage in so that again he could create something a new.

His head busts was yet another form of creation that he happily went into his shed and would in a short period transform the clay or plaster of paris into a masterpiece.

So to you my friend, thank you for what you have done for us. Thank you for all of the people that have had the blessing of working with you and the legacy that you leave behind for all of us to enjoy.

Whilst this chapter of your life is shut and your projects are complete and much appreciated by all. On behalf of the Church of Scientology, I want to deeply express my appreciation for what you have done and the dedication you have shown in the last 55 years as a Scientologist. Thank you.

All the best to you in your future existence and to again bless one and all with your sense of creation, art and vision!

Love, Maarten
